Overview

As part of T.Y. Lin’s Corporate IT team, the Systems Administrator I is a member of select IT services teams supporting IT infrastructure and systems, from office-level to enterprise, as well as a variety of end user support spanning over 800 staff in approximately 40 offices across the Americas.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Work closely with other IT staff to ensure prompt handling of support calls and emails
  • Provide onsite support to local offices, and be afterhours support point-of-contact as scheduled
  • Oversee physical access and maintenance of server room; gain understanding of all systems housed
  • Utilize and enhance documented troubleshooting and escalation procedures
  • Assist with procurement and documentation; work to improve both
  • Advance IT by providing ideas, and handling IT projects not necessarily limited to end-user support as an active member of various IT services teams—examples include:
    • General network configuration and troubleshooting
    • Directory services such as Active Directory or LDAP
    • Systems management with tools such as Altiris, LANDesk, SCCM, or ZENworks
    • SharePoint maintenance and development
    • Printers, and other Windows network peripherals
    • Mobile devices
  • Provide feedback to IT management

Qualifications

  • Must be fluent in Spanish and English
  • College degree in technology, design, engineering, or related field
  • 2-5 years supporting information technology
  • Able to support Windows clients in a distributed environment
  • Able to communicate clearly and calmly in stressful situations using non-technical language
  • Able to give and receive feedback professionally within IT organization
  • Scripting/programming such as shell, Perl, PowerShell, Python, or Visual Basic
  • Experience with or ability to learn Linux, enterprise storage (EMC or NetApp), or WAN optimization
  • Experience working with helpdesk, asset, and desktop management tools and systems
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, CAD, GIS or graphics applications
  • Experience in professional services firms, design/engineering firms preferred
