  • Overview

    Project Manager/Senior Transportation Engineer requires technical expertise in preliminary engineering/environmental clearance, roadway/ highway design, plans production, and the ability to manage projects / clients, supervise production in multiple offices, and provide day-to-day technical guidance, supervision and career mentoring to direct reports.


    • Project Manager and client interface on specific transportation related projects.
    • Direct proposal efforts for highway pursuits, and write assigned sections of highway proposals.
    • Participate in BD activities for pursuit of highway work opportunities and lead pursuit efforts for major projects.
    • Develop production work plans, schedules and budgets.
    • Work with other project managers and Unit manager to establish contract budgets and scopes of work.
    • Plan and schedule engineering work.
    • Implementing rigorous Quality Assurance/Quality Control procedures.
    • Organize and develop contract plans.
    • Develop contract specifications and bid estimates.
    • Develop project schedules.
    • Ensure proper codes and standards are being used on projects.
    • Supervise, coordinate and review the work of other engineers and designers.
    • Provide the design staff with guidance and assistance on projects.
    • Responsible for the successful completion of projects under his/her direction.


    BSCE required, MSCE preferred, with emphasis in highway/roadway design. Pennsylvania Professional Engineer’s license required, 10 - 15 years of highway/roadway design experience. Experience in project management required. Successful experience managing roadway design projects and design teams. Ability to prepare comprehensive engineering reports. Experience with PennDOT Standards and Specifications is required and experience with local procedures is strongly preferred. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, Inroads, Microstation and GeoPak. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
