  • Overview

    The Transit Operations Manager will assist with transit project delivery in the Los Angeles Area, oversee transportation engineers, and provide experience with Los Angeles and Southern California transit agencies on a part-time basis. In addition to project management, the Transit Operations Manager will develop client relationships and engage in business development activities. This candidate has the potential to work on high profile projects and will bring strategic transportation solutions to our clients in Los Angeles and Southern California.


    • Provides transit operational expertise to a variety of transit projects, including but not limited to heavy and light rail transit operational/maintentance procedures and key practices, principles and practices of safety in transit system, and transit facility construction operations.
    • Provides support on project design of heavy and light rail projects.
    • Performs Quality Assurance, Quality Check (QA/QC) of transit plans, reports, technical specifications, and other project documents.
    • Conducts a variety of operational and administrative studies and special assignments; reports study results to management personnel.
    • Stays abreast of new trends and innovations in the field of transit operations.
    • Participates in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies and priorities and recommends and implements resulting policies and procedures for various transit projects and the Surface Transportation Line of Business.
    • Serves as a member of the Surface Transporation team in setting Line of Business priorities, strategic planning, and budgeting.




    • Requires a minimum of 10-15 years of transit experience, with significant experience in operations
    • Bachelors degree (Masters Degree preferred) in a related field (technical business, public and/or transportation administration, transportation planning, or other related field)
    • Minimum of five years of increasingly responsible supervisory or managerial experience; preferably in a large public transit setting; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Proven experience identifying strategic opportunities.
    • Must have experience working with Southern California Rail and Transit customers with specific knowledge of operational characteristics, services and activities of a rail transportation system.
