T.Y. Lin International is seeking a Transportation Engineer to join our growing transportation group in Atlanta, GA. This position will be responsible for aiding in highway design elements including preparing preliminary, right of way and final plans, specifications, and estimates.
The primary role is performing engineering design, analysis, calculations and preparing plans and specifications. The position will support the engineering team as a contributing member with various engineering and project duties, including, but not limited to: perform calculations; create design concepts and engineering drawings; provide design and engineering analysis; develop plans; develop and check specifications; create and review cost analysis and bidding documents; draft schedules; create and review field documents; make site reviews and other engineering related activities.
The primary duties of this position rely upon advanced knowledge and application of basic and integrated engineering principles, fundamental theories, engineering techniques and procedures. This position depends upon the ability to collaborate with other project team members and the ability to apply discretion and independent judgement in the performance of the essential job duties
Geometric design, drainage and grading, signing and marking, maintenance of traffic, erosion control/MS4 and construction cost estimating.
Requires a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or other relevant engineering degree from an ABET accredited undergraduate or graduate program is required. MUST have 2-6 years of experience in highway design. EIT required. PE preferred or ability to obtain within 2 years. Ability to apply discretion and independent judgment required. Knowledge of engineering and/or design software (such as MicroStation, InRoads, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Revit and BIM) is strongly preferred. Knowledge of Georgia DOT policies and procedures is a plus.
