  • Overview

    T.Y. Lin International is seeking a Construction Inspectors interested in a variety of challenging infrastructure projects within the Transportation Industry. Projects include highway and bridge construction, paving, roadway, utility, bridge and other heavy civil construction. Assignments throughout the state. Night and/or weekend work may be required.

    The Construction Inspector’s function is to inspect roadway construction and all its related duties. Evaluate the work performed and materials used; verifying quality of workmanship, quality of materials used, and compliance with plans, specifications, estimates and applicable codes and regulations, documenting deficiencies and deviations from the construction plans. Familiar with DelDOT and/or PennDOT standard specifications and construction details.

    Responsibilities

    • Inspect roadway and bridge construction jobs
    • New construction and/or rehabilitation/restoration projects
    • Knowledge of construction materials (steel, concrete, asphalt, aggregates, etc.)
    • Complete daily inspection reports
    • Inspection testing of construction work and assure general compliance with Delaware DOT standards and specifications
    • Familiar with computer systems and/or tablet systems for record keeping
    • Good organizational skills
    • Daily project record keeping
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    Requires high school diploma (or equivalent), Engineering Degree (preferred) and valid driver’s license. May require NICET II, III, or IV certification. Other certifications a plus:   ATSSA Flagger and/or Traffic Control Coordinator and DNREC CCR a plus, OSHA Safety, or the ability to obtain.
