  • Overview

    T.Y. Lin International's Sacramento office is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to require technical expertise in roadway and highway design. The engineering duties are comprehensive, which include planning and scheduling of engineering work, client contacts, performing more advanced design, and developing contract plans, specifications and bid estimates. The ability to market and obtain new work is desirable.

    Responsibilities

    • Act as Project Engineer for transportation-related projects.
    • Key member of roadway project team who leads and performs complex analysis and design.
    • Assist Transportation Services Manager with marketing transportation design projects, preparing proposals, and participating in proposal interviews.
    • Develop production work plans, schedules and budgets.
    • Work with other project managers and Transportation Services Manager to establish and monitor contract budgets and scopes of work.
    • Lead project team in the analysis, design, and production of plans, specifications, and estimates.
    • Ensure proper codes and standards are being used by engineers on projects.
    • Responsible for the successful completion of projects under his/her direction.

    Qualifications

    Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, a California P.E. license and at least 8 to 14 years of experience. Experience in project management is highly desirable. Requires advanced knowledge of roadway design and analysis software (Microstation, AutoCAD Civil 3D, etc). Ability to prepare comprehensive engineering reports. Successful experience managing civil design projects and design teams. Experience with Caltrans, local agency, and municipality procedures is preferred.
