T.Y. Lin International’s San Diego office is seeking a Transportation Engineer who will be responsible for aiding in the planning and design of Transportation-related projects, including preliminary engineering studies, development of plans, specifications and estimate (PS&E), and construction administration. The primary focus will be public transportation and infrastructure systems, and may include any supporting disciplines including Hydraulics, Hydrology, Water, Wastewater, site design, and airport facilities. Duties will initially be specific to highway, rail, high speed rail, and airport design, working in the San Diego office. The duties include planning, directing, and executing projects, mentoring project engineers, assisting project managers, participating in marketing proposals and presentations.
Requires Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, a California P.E. license, and a minimum of 10 years of relevant engineering and management experience in transportation related design projects. Candidate must demonstrate effective team leadership and be familiar with project management, as well as the ability to prepare comprehensive engineering reports. Existing relationships with San Diego area transportation clients is preferred, as well as knowledge of their policies and procedures. Must have excellent oral and written communications skills. Proficiency using roadway design software (Civil 3D required), drainage design software, and drafting software (MicroStation and AutoCAD) is preferred.
