  • Overview

    Our New York office is seeking a Group Leader of Construction Management for Facilities that and will report to the unit manager or Director of Construction manager.  This position will require leadership in business development, project management and office management internal and external to the Company. Responsible for construction management/construction inspection (CM/CI) project performance for Facilities projects, including financial results, quality of deliverables, adherence to schedules, and overall client satisfaction.   Provides guidance and expertise to staff.  Develops and implements strategies for facilities CM program in NYC.

     

    Group leader is responsible for sales goal as mutually agreed upon with Unit Manager/Director of Construction.

    Responsibilities

    BD and Marketing

    • Works with office manager to forecast and implement the facilities CM services component of the annual operating plan.
    • Achieve contract revenues in accordance with goals resulting from Annual Plan.
    • Develops and maintains relationships with prospective clients and teaming partners.
    • Prepares proposals and participates in client interviews.
    • Identifies potential project prospects and assists in preparation of fee proposals to support marketing efforts.

    Recruiting and training

    • Actively participates and recruiting staff for facilities CM group
    • Conducts training, performs annual performance evaluations, and recommends merit adjustments Works closely with the Project Managers (PMs) to forecast and level technical staff workload.
    • Maintain membership in professional societies; attend at least one society event per year.

    Group and Project management

    • Monitors budgets and schedules in conjunction with PMs.
    • In concert with the Office Managers and the PMs, assigns technical staff to individual projects.
    • Responsible for project delivery and quality review processes.
    • Responsible for managing facilities CM resources to meet specific project budgets and the Unit operating plan annual goals.
    • Mentors facilities CM Staff and develops a strong sense of “team” within the group.
    • Acts as PM on key projects where assigned to such role.
    • Other responsibilities as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Requires BSCE degree and a minimum of 15 years of increasingly responsible experience in a similar function, Professional Engineering license or PMA certification required. NYCSCA, NYCDDC experience required. NYCHA experience desirable.
