Our Construction Management team is seeking an experienced Business/Commercial Analyst to join our project teams on various infrastructure rail & transit projects.  Previous and related work experience from construction, engineering, architecture, or consulting services company is essential.  While the primary job responsibility is creating and maintaining dashboards, contracts compliance, negotiation & transactional support, you will be part of a new and growing team of professionals within our Project Controls Department supporting multiple projects and clients. 

Responsibilities

  • Under supervision of the Commercial Manager or Project Manager, work with the team to draft, review and negotiate a broad range of agreements with a primary focus on professional services agreements.
  • Coordinate with Commercial Management Team and Construction Compliance Team to gather and validate project progress data and key performance indicators to generate reporting dashboards.
  • Conduct presentations of monthly project controls and dashboard reports to project/program leadership and Client’s representatives.
  • Assist with responses to Contractor’s letters, notices of extra work, and time extensions.
  • Participate in developing strategies to respond to Contractor claims and disputes and lead in drafting formal responses.
  • Participate in negotiations of reconciliation of contractual force account budgets with the Contractors.
  • Work with Technical Leads to ensure contractual basis for change order work.
  • Assist in contract administration, changes, and payment claims; subcontracts administration, changes and claims; all procurement, expediting and goods receipt; commercial reporting and cost of major transit projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of Business Analysis or Project Controls Specialist experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating change orders, creating, and updating dashboards and working with the project team to track and maintain KPIs.
  • Must have an accounting/business/legal related degree, with experience on construction and/or engineering-related projects.
  • Strong project management skills. Technical and project coordination skills and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Construction and/or Engineering project operations.
  • Knowledge of project management scheduling and estimating.
  • Proficient in the use of personal computer and office software, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat Professional.

As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of $70,000 - $105,000 annually for this position and local market.
