Civil Engineering Technician (entry level engineer), Roads + Highway. The engineering duties are comprehensive, which include design or design support, developing contract plans, specifications and construction cost estimates. Design elements may include geometrics, cross-section, grading drainage, trackwork, utility relocations, drainage, traffic control, and other hardscape. 

Responsibilities

  • Perform assignments using prescribed methods requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria
  • Apply engineering knowledge to the design of transportation facilities including roadway design
  • Perform calculations and analysis using engineering formulas
  • Adjust and correlate data, research applicable standards, design options, and document findings
  • Organize and maintain project files
  • Prepare roadway design plans, profiles and geometric layout designs
  • Participate in field reviews and data collection, traffic studies, and traffic forecasting
  • Assist project managers and engineers to provide requested input to establish contract budgets and scopes of work 
  • Assist project team in the analysis, design, and production of plans, specifications, and estimates
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications

H

  • Requires a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited program, Master’s Degree is a plus
  • Relevant internship or related work experience preferred on civil design projects, specifically, highway design
  • EIT/EI Certification preferred
  • Familiarity and experience using MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer - Bentley and/or AutoCAD is preferred

TYLin is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range for this position.  $70,400 - $88,000 annually.  TYLin is proud to offer a comprehensive total rewards package.
