TYLin’s Rockaway, New Jersey office is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead the Highway Design team in the design of various highway design tasks on a variety of bridge and highway projects. Candidates for this position should demonstrate proficiency in highway design and analyses, with experience in utilizing software applications (e.g. MicroStation, Inroads, etc.) with minimal to no guidance.  Candidates should also have a consistent and successful track record in working with NJDOT and/or NJTA. This position will require leadership skills and experience leading a Highway Design Team in project delivery

• Lead Highway Design engineering teams to develop highway designs and develop contract documents.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and technical staff.
• Collaborate with project managers and the unit manager to establish scopes of work.
• Develop production work plans and schedules.
• Develop contract specifications and bid estimates.
• Implement rigorous Quality Assurance/Quality Control procedures.
• Ensure proper codes and standards are being used on projects.
• Train and mentor staff under their supervision.
• Other related tasks as required.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Requires at least 7+ years of relevant experience in Highway Design.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license in the state of NJ is preferred.
• Advanced knowledge in the use of MicroStation and InRoads.
• Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office, Acrobat/Bluebeam, 3D Modeling, and other engineering production software is recommended.
